Norland Nanny
Norland College has been providing best-in-class Norland Nannies for over 130 years. Students study a BA Degree in Early Years Development and Learning, followed by a year being monitored as a New Qualified Nanny before finally being able to call themselves a Norlander.
These nannies will go on to work as overseas nannies, live–out nannies, live–in nannies and maternity nurses.
During their training they will have hands on experience working in a variety of placements which will offer them an intimate understanding of the job, backed up by the excellent academic training provided by the college.
Norland nanny duties can include: arranging age applicable activities and trips, cooking meals, overseeing homework, children’s laundry & ironing, providing feedback to parents and developing routines.
As they go on to work for some of the most influential families in the world, Norland Nannies are equipped to meet the needs of their clients — from administering first aid to preparing for the holidays. And some of the recent additions to the Norland College curriculum include security and anti-terrorism training, taekwondo and skid-driving to avoid paparazzi.

She recognised that early years childcare and education needed to be more structured, and Norland College became the first to offer any kind of formal training in childcare. Today it continues to be at the forefront of early years training, ensuring that students are trained to the highest level.

Modules include Safeguarding and Child Protection, Promoting Health and Wellbeing, Making Sense of Children’s Behaviour and Working with Families and Communities. The course curriculum also covers, among others, First Aid training, baby massage, driving in arduous conditions and security training delivered by former military intelligence officers. Each of the three years is divided into three trimesters with the Norland nanny time split between placement and College.
